The National Merit Scholarship Program recognized 103 Westlake students for 2023-24, with 35 Semifinalists, 46 Commended, 18 Hispanic Scholars, two Indigenous Scholars and two African American Scholars. National Merit Semifinalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.

In the 2022-2023 school year, 90% of the Advanced Placement tests Westlake students have taken scored a three or higher.

Westlake High School's team won the national high school pilot program for Future City Engineering in Washington, D.C. In addition to a huge trophy, each team member receives a $10,000 scholarship. February 2024.

Westlake High School CyberPatriot Team, competed in CyberPatriot state and national competitions and finished #3 in Texas, #10 in the U.S. This is the first year of the CyberPatriot team at WHS, which works to direct students toward careers in cybersecurity or other computer, science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines.

The WHS Model United Nations delegation brought home 3 accolades at the University of Texas (CTMUN) conference: Harper Quale - Best Delegate (1st), Saransh Jain - Outstanding Delegate (2nd) and Adrita Roy - Best Delegate (1st). November 2023.

The Westlake HS Business Incubator team, Notifeye, was the recipient of $15,000 in the National Pitch competition of INCubatoredu by Uncharted Learning, NFP. This makes six out of the past seven years and the third year in a row a business from Westlake High School has been funded.

The Westlake Robotics Drone team recently placed 4th place overall and won the Best Presentation and Engineering Notebook awards at the Bell Helicopter Advanced Vertical Robotics National Championships held in Arlington.

Westlake High School senior Reuben Paul and junior Grant Steinauer were named finalists for the Texas Business Hall of Fame Outstanding High School Entrepreneur Award. The award was created to recognize high school students who demonstrate an early inclination to entrepreneurship and business leadership. Reuben won the award and both students will attend an awards luncheon and induction dinner in San Antonio next month.

Westlake High School had 6 students selected in 2023 as All-State musicians by the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), an honor that only the top three percent of musicians who initially audition achieve.

Westlake Chaparral Marching Band appeared in the 2023 Bands of America Finals and placed 12th out of 68 bands.

The Class of 2023 includes three Westlake High School students earning perfect ACT scores.

The 2023 Westlake Boys Golf team won their sixth consecutive state title and 13th overall state golf title, more than any other Texas 6A school in history.

In 2023, Westlake Wrestlers Nick Wang and Grady O were named to the Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State Team. Westlake made up 40% of the student-athletes achieving the honor.

The Chap Band and EVE have been invited to participate in the 2024 Rose Bowl Parade. They are one of only 15 schools in the U.S. to receive this prestigious invitation, highlighting their exceptional talent, dedication, and reputation as one of the nation’s top overall band programs.

Westlake Theatre was recognized by the Texas Educational Theatre Association with an Award of Distinction (Outstanding Campus) at the 2023 awards ceremony and annual conference.

Westlake High School Latin students, The Texas Intermediate Certamen team, won 1st place in the nation, the first National Championship for a team consisting mostly of Westlake students. A variety of academic tests challenged their knowledge in such subjects as Latin Grammar, Mythology, Roman History, and many more.
