Westlake High School plans to offer the PSAT on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 to all sophomores and to juniors who register to take the test. Results from the PSAT are designed to provide predictive data for a student's future success on the SAT and in college. The PSAT allows a student to see their areas of strength and areas for improvement before taking the SAT in the spring of their junior year. For juniors, the PSAT also serves as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. PSAT/NMSQT scores are used to identify National Merit Scholars and award merit scholarships.
Students will receive an electronic score report that shows how they performed overall, as well as their performance on each test section. Additionally, they will be able to see how their scores compare to those of other students across the nation. The score reports will be available online in late December or early January.
SOPHOMORES will automatically be registered for the PSAT. If you would like to opt your child out of the PSAT exam, please complete the PSAT Opt-Out Form.
JUNIORS who wish to take the PSAT/NMSQT exam must register through Total Registration.
Early Registration - must be paid for by Friday, Sep 24, 2021 at a cost of $42.
Late Registration- must be paid for by Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at a cost of $82. Registrations that are not paid by this date will be cancelled and exams will not be ordered for those students.
