MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL RAMSEY

The Lucky Ones...
One of the things I have missed most about the end of this school year is watching our students face the reality of the end of a school year. At the end of each year, kids are ready to go. They are ready to get gone. It is time for a break. One trait that makes our campus unique is the appreciation our students show each other and to our faculty as they move into the summer. Our kids take the time to sincerely thank our teachers for their work throughout the year...

We hope you enjoyed the 2019-2020 Speaker Series. We are working hard to put together next year's presentation line up. Please email Kristi Waidhofer (kwaidhofer@eanesisd.net) with topic suggestions/requests!

Visit our page with handouts, videos, and podcasts to catch up on prior presentations.

If pandemic life has your student rethinking their courses for next year, it is not too late to update course requests.  Take a look at your student's Career Plan in Skyward and let their counselor know if something needs to be adjusted for 2020-21.

SENIOR parents: Stay tuned for information about picking up diplomas. Once the shipment arrives, we will create a drive-by schedule and notify you via email.

If your student is taking outside classes this summer or next year (online correspondence through TTU or UT, credit-by-exam, or dual credit), please complete this form and return to your student's counselor. It helps us to know what your student is planning for credits not in their schedule.

Interested in Dual Credit classes at ACC? Find information and steps to enroll here.
Summer classes are filling quickly (they are online).
If your student plans to take an ACC class this fall, we suggest completing your registration by May 30 for returning ACC dual credit students and by June 5 for new dual credit students. There will likely be longer processing times after these dates.

We hope your family has a good summer. Counselors check their email regularly, so feel free to reach out; additionally, a counselor is on duty (remotely) every week this summer on Monday-Thursday, except for the week of June 29-July 3. Find our schedule here.

Chap Connections Newsletter

Thank you, Chap families and staff for a great year! While it did not end the way we planned, we pivoted. We did our best with the situation we had, and tested those words we often discuss - grit and resilience.  Together, we funded classroom supplies, created an outdoor classroom, and were able to go above and beyond with our Staff Appreciation. Thank you for showing up for our campus and staff, Chap Families. YOU are the secret sauce that makes it all possible!

By way of Zoom, we finished the year selecting 6 Senior recipients to receive a $1,000 scholarship for their years of service while at Westlake. The winners are: Urvi Alamela, Maxton Huff, Melissa Khasbagan, Katherine Kearney, Marianna Silveyra, and Celina Sit. Congratulations and thank you for your dedication and hard work.

We also selected an Unsung WHS Staff Hero, a staff member who goes above and beyond on our Westlake campus.  The award included $1,000 and a special social distancing surprise announcement.  Congratulations to our amazing Theatre Director, Meredith Yanchak!

Parents of Healthy Students
Throughout the school year, we have been sending information related to the five SEL competencies. This will be our final message for this year.
