As the year is coming to an end, it has been interesting to see how the thought of a school year ending has impacted many of our students and staff. Whether it is graduating from WHS or simply having a summer break between your sophomore, junior and senior years, I have heard many more conversations about not being with friends and having a common spot to meet daily - our campus. There is a real feeling of anxiousness and loneliness about not being able to see the important people who have become such a crucial part of their daily/weekly experience. Relationships matter, and it is very interesting to see this generation have this reaction. With all the connectivity through social media, texting, FaceTime, etc, it is awesome to see how our kids and staff still want and desire direct, human interaction...

The Westlake Boys' Golf Teams won the 2019 6A State Championship and placed 3rd yesterday at Legacy Hills in Georgetown. Westlake I scorched the golf course with a 12 under par round of 276 in round two en route to a 20 shot victory over Vandegrift. Westlake II played excellent golf both days as well claiming 3rd place in the State. This marks the first time in 6A history that one school has claimed 1st and 3rd in the State. Thomas Bockholt birdied his last hole and also birdied the playoff hole to win individual State title. Members of Westlake I were Thomas Bockholt, Matthew Denton, J. Holland Humphries, Sean-Karl Dobson, and Jacob Sosa.
Saanya Bhargava was selected as a Coca Cola Scholar and Lauren Gehman was selected as a Distinguished Educator. COUNSELING / SUPPORT Students planning to earn a credit outside of Westlake over the summer should complete this form and return it to their counselor.

PTO
Dear Parents,
As we get ready to wrap up this year, I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your love and support to the PTO. We've had a successful year; we raised more money than we had planned for, allowing us to allocate more $ to school projects and classroom supplies, and this would not have been possible without your generous contributions.
Have a wonderful summer!
With Love and Gratitude,
