Each school has a different style for this event based on the campus culture. It is a great day, for all involved...

Speech and Debate Results - Tournament of Champions in Lexington, KY
At one of the most competitive tournaments in the United States, Senior Ali Slimi and Junior Miles Dintzner followed up their TFA State Championship in March with another solid performance at the Tournament of Champions in Lexington, Kentucky.
Ali and Miles won 5 of their preliminary rounds and advanced to the Octofinal round (top 16) in the Gold Division of Public Forum Debate. Yet another incredible accomplishment by these two students, Ali and Miles have established themselves as one of the best debate teams in the nation.
Sophomores Xuechen Yin and Jason Luo also won 5 of their preliminary rounds advanced to the Double Octofinal round in the Silver Division of Public Forum. As most of the students competing at the TOC are juniors and seniors, this is a remarkable result for these talented sophomores.
Thank you for your continued support of the Westlake Speech and Debate Team!

Results from the STATE Visual Arts Scholastic Event
On 4/26, the visual arts teachers and our state qualified students attended the V.A.S.E. State Finals in San Marcos. Across the great state of Texas, over 35,000 works of art were adjudicated at the district level, and only approximately 2,000 advanced to compete at the state level. Once the judging was completed and All-State awards were determined, the judges then selected a very small percentage of artworks for the "Gold Seal" award, making this group the top 1 - 2% of all participating art students in the state.
The following Westlake High School artists earned All-State medals: Teya Saadeh
We had further honors bestowed upon our one Gold Seal winner, Abby McRae!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
