The six Westlake High School Choirs competed at the UIL Region 32 Concert and Sightreading Contest on Monday and Tuesday, April 15th and 16th, at Cedar Park High School. Each choir sang a concert program consisting of three contrasting pieces, then demonstrated music literacy skills by sight reading an original choral piece. Two panels of three judges evaluated their work. All of the judges determined that the work was outstanding and, as a result, a sweepstakes distinction was given to each choir! Congratulations to the directors and students of WHS Choir!

One out of every five children have a diagnosable mental health need. Unfortunately, not every child who has a mental health need receives services. This could be due to not knowing what services are available; it could be because they have difficulty accessing services or because of a perceived stigma about receiving mental health care. The annual Children's Mental Health Awareness Day is a free, family-friendly rally and festival that provides information about community services while empowering children and families to rise above mental health stigma. https://cmhaustin.weebly.com/ PTO
