CHALLENGE SUCCESS

Why is Westlake involved in Challenge Success?
Several years ago, a few of us began to have concerns about the health, well-being, and academic engagement of our students. We know from anecdotal feedback that many of our students struggle or feel disengaged. We turned to Stanford's Challenge Success for personalized, research-based help. They've worked with high schools like Westlake for more than a decade.

Learn more about WHS Challenge Success, what we've done and where we're headed.  Our web site is a work in progress, so please check back for ongoing updates.

Finding the BEST FIT college for a student is an important part of Challenge Success' message about fostering learners who are healthy and motivated.

ATTENDANCE CORNER

Hey parents. A couple of important reminders...

1. Did you know you can check your student's attendance on Skyward? Please log on today and if you see any absences that say No State Funding, Dr, Appt, No Note, then your student has an unexcused absence for that period. Please contact your doctor office today and have that note emailed or faxed to the following: whsattendance@eanesisd.net or 512-732-9271. Also if your student has any absence that says Undocumented Unexcused Absence, please make sure and document with us at the above email.

2. College visits – before taking one, your student must stop by the Attendance office and pick up a form for all of their teachers to sign prior to leaving. We will then give them another form, once this is done, to take and have the University sign. Not following these steps can result in an unexcused absence for the time they are gone.

The project, Art History Independent Study, was a collaboration between Foote and Westlake's art history teacher, Melinda Darrow. Together, Foote and Darrow took two groups of students on a field trip to Washington, D.C., to use the Smithsonian Museum libraries and the Library of Congress to deepen the students' research skills...
