The Westlake PTO has evolved and changed over the years - but our mission remains:

"...to enrich the educational experience of students at Westlake High School by providing volunteer and financial support to Westlake High School's teachers, administrators, counselors, and students."

Thank you to each and every one of you who have supported PTO via mum sales, concessions, No Hassle Fundraiser, Pavers, Staff Appreciation and other volunteering opportunities. We are deeply grateful for your support!

We are also very appreciative of the parents who have contributed in the past years and those who became LIFETIME MEMBERS of the PTO. We no longer offer this option, but in this season of thankfulness, please know your generous support over the years has helped make Westlake High School what it is today:  a vibrant, diverse campus bursting with successes both big and small.

Many Thanks -

Yours Gratefully,

Shalini Komarla

President, WHS PTO

Attention Westlake families:

Do you have old film cameras

that are gathering dust somewhere?

Did you know that the photography classes at WHS

have a working darkroom but only

a small number of film cameras?

If you are willing to part with any film cameras,

the students would benefit by having more to go around.

Please contact Alison Strelitz at

astrelitz@eanesisd.net with any questions.

Thank you!

At the National Journalism Convention Nov. 1-4 in Chicago, The Featherduster earned a third place for special edition in the Best of Show competition for the issue "Relationships" which was distributed in October.

Seniors, Kendall Carroll and Elizabeth Jackson, attended, along with adviser, Deanne Brown. The students competed in on-site contests. Individually, Elizabeth won an honorable mention for her portrait photo and Kendall won excellent for news magazine design.

"I was really proud of everyone because it was the first issue of the year with a new staff," said Kendall, who is co-editor-in-chief.  "It was really validating to win on a national level. In the issue, we covered a lot of topics which are very difficult, such as teen pregnancy, eating disorders and non-nuclear families, and to know it was received well by readers both in and outside the Westlake community is gratifying."

This past weekend 21 WHS Model UN delegates participated in the Central Texas Model UN Conference at UT Austin. Committee topics ranged from addressing the Yemeni Civil War, cyber espionage, and the psychological health of refugees to MARVEL: COENIN, Facebook Board of Directors, and Rise of Rome crisis committees. Our students did an excellent job representing Westlake at this conference!

Please join me in congratulating the following award winners:

  • Ethan Abraham in the International Court of Justice Committee

Outstanding Delegate

  • Julian Alin representing Rodrigo Ávila in the Gang Crisis in El Salvador crisis committee
  • Felix Chen representing Publius Satyreius in the Rise of Rome historical crisis committee
