...As a final request, today is Donation Day for the Eanes Educational Foundation. EEF funds 16 full time positions at WHS. Sixteen is a rather significant number...these teachers impact over 2,000 students a day.

Westlake Golf Team wins!

No threat of cold rains, high winds, nor Halloween horrors could stop the Chaps from winning the 2018 Hutto High Fall Invite at Star Ranch!

Thanks to a united and balanced effort led by Kerrisa Limon's three-over 74, the Chaps team of Limon, Lauren Luu, Taylor Hurd, Kathryn Jones, and Emma Davidson came away with the closest of wins, a 314 total to Waco Midway's 315! Our medalists, Laine Trotter and Sophia Calavitta, also played some excellent Chap golf.

Congratulations also to our four Chaps who made the Top 10 All-Tourney team: Limon, Luu, Hurd, and Trotter, who climbed the podium by winning a scorecard playoff with teammate K. Jones.

The Chaps are on roll! Breaking News! The Chaps JV team of Jelanie Brookins, Katie Taughinbaugh, Estee Reiss, and Devin Dickey won the Joy Riley Team Scramble at Lions on November 1st--also by one stroke--by combining to shoot 74. (Former Anderson High Girls Coach Joy Riley in photo with the winning Chaps.)

Next stop: Varsity I and II teams to Montgomery to play Bentwater CC on Nov. 9-10!

Teaching our youth resilience can be equated to the metaphor of a tree. Trees need things from their environment to grow healthy and strong just as our youth depend on their environment to develop and mature. Self-Awareness makes it possible for teens to make decisions, plan for the future and understand their own emotions...

In October, the Board heard reports on several topics including an update on the Digital Learning Task Force, the selection of the Envision Eanes committee, the review of potential bond category #2 (energy efficiency & conservation) and an update on the Special Education initiative. You will notice there are numerous opportunities for discussion and involvement; please participate as you are able.

Superintendent Dr. Tom Leonard presents highlights from last year as well as challenges & opportunities facing our District. If you missed the presentation at your child's campus, join us at any of our other campus presentations. Click title for full schedule.
