Always a Great Day to be a Chaparral…….....

Homecoming is always a little special at Westlake High School. Even with extremely busy schedules, this day and weekend have a special feel and excitement. Our students and staff always take pride in this school and community, but this weekend seems to bring everyone together a little closer.

HOMECOMING WEEKEND

We've had a great Homecoming week and are excited for the Home Varsity football game tonight against Austin High (GO CHAPS!) and for the Homecoming Dance on Saturday.

Football Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate. 7:30pm start.

Homecoming Dance tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door if your student didn't buy them during lunch this week.

Dance is in the Chap Court on Saturday, 9/22, from 7:30-11pm.

SENIOR PORTRAITS
In order to appear in the yearbook, seniors are required to sit for a formal portrait with Photo Texas Photography. We encourage seniors to go to the studio for their sittings; however, the photographers
will be on campus Oct. 29-31 and Dec. 10-11. Deadline: Dec. 14

Early Bird Discount Deadline: Friday, 10/5 (save $50!)

Honor your child in the 2019 yearbook by purchasing a senior tribute. Tributes can include pictures, a good luck message, congratulatory remark, etc.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25th

Juniors & Seniors - HILLS OF AUSTIN COLLEGE FAIR

(for students only)

Juniors will attend from 8:50-9:30am and Seniors will attend from 9:35-10:35am. Over 140 colleges are scheduled to attend and will be organized by region in the Chap Court and courtyard. This is a great opportunity for students to meet college representatives and ask questions about colleges they might be interested in.

PSAT/NMSQT Testing on October 10th

WHS will be testing over 1,000 Sophomores and registered Juniors for the PSAT/NMSQT in the morning on October 10, 2018.

From 8:50am-12:15pm

All Freshmen will be in the PAC, involved in planned activities with our counseling and campus staff.
Testing Sophomores and Juniors will take the PSAT in their designated testing room.
Non-testing Juniors will be in the Chap Court for study hall.
Seniors will not be required to be on campus until 12:15. (This morning would be a great time to schedule doctor and dentist visits). Seniors on campus before 12:15 will report to the Chap Court for study hall.

WHS will resume a half-day schedule at 12:15 and we will dismiss as usual at 4:15.

Reminders for testing Sophomores and Juniors

BE ON TIME and in your testing room at 8:45am
Dress in layers for warmth
PLEASE BRING
- #2 pencils (not mechanical pencils)
- Approved calculator
- Water or snack to eat during a short break
- Proof of ID (student ID, driver's license, passport)

Come Dance with Hyline

Calling all Dancers 6th through 12th grade!! Our Annual Jazz Intensive is on October 8, from 9am-1pm. The class will be focusing on technique, style and cutting-edge combos and is being taught by our talented Hyline Directors. All dance levels are welcome!
