Attendance Corner

Please remember to notify Attendance ASAP if you will be leaving early or returning late from Spring Break.  We anticipate a lot of paperwork around that time and the earlier we can log the better.  A personal absence and an all-day sick absence are equal as they both count towards Compulsory Attendance, so no worries in notifying us early.

Email us at whsattendance@eanesisd.net

FAQ of the week:

I checked my student out at 4 to get to an appointment.  Why was he/she counted absent?

State of Texas requires a student to be in class 90% of the time.  On the high school level, each class period is separate, so a student must be in class for 45 minutes in order to get class credit.  So if it was for a medical related appointment, make sure and supply the doctors note so it is not counted towards your students Compulsory Attendance numbers.

Healthy Chaps
Check out this week's blog to learn what the failing student wants us to realize!

Mark your calendars for the next Speaker Series, March 8th! As a reminder you can access video and handouts from past presentations.

Be sure to scroll through the Speaker Series section for more wonderful, free learning opportunities in the community! Upcoming opportunities range THREE different book studies; learning how to set healthy habits; workshops for girls and the adults in their lives; and yoga therapy groups!

Stay healthy, Chaps!
