Wrestlers Medal at State

Senior Jack Skudlarczyk became the most successful wrestler from Region IV by wining his third state championship Saturday. He dominated the competition, beating the defending state champion 12-4 in the quarterfinals, and pinning a two time finalist in the championship match. The three titles, and the 3rd place finish his sophomore year less than two months after having knee surgery, make Jack one of the top 5 most decorated wrestlers in state history.

Senior Anderson Salisbury had a terrific tournament, easily defeating 3 wrestlers on his way to the championship match. There he faced an Allen wrestler who was also seeking his third championship. In match few thought would be close, Anderson stormed back from an early deficit, and nearly pushed the match to overtime, but came up a few seconds short. The runner-up finish for Anderson bettered his third place finish last season.

The wrestling team finished the tournament in 7th place, the third consecutive finish in the top 7.
