Principal's Weekly Newsletter - September 3, 2010

Dear Chaps’ Families,

Good afternoon!   I have enjoyed visiting with many of you at events and parent meeting nights over the past week or so.   Our senior parents have the option of attending one of two upcoming meetings: September the 8th or the 15th.  Both meetings are in the Recital Hall at 6:30 p.m. The counselors will be leading these meetings and discussing the college application/acceptance process.

I invite all of you to attend the first Coffee with the Principal on Wednesday, September 15th at 9:30 a.m. in the Principal’s Conference Room in the main office area.  Please park in one of the visitor spaces near the office or in the TLC parking lot.
 
I hope to see some of you in red at the football game in Abilene this evening.   Enjoy the Monday holiday and the cooler weather this weekend!

From the English Department and the Library
Parents--Support the library and English department and have one stop shopping all in one!  Purchase books for your child's required reading at Barnes and Noble anytime between Sept 11 and Sept 25, and a percentage of the sale is donated to the high school.   Any other books you purchase also apply!   See attached voucher coupon.  You can also use this online code and order the books online:  10245249 during those dates and your purchase will be credited to the high school.   Thank you for your support!
Campus Meetings Resume
1.  Coffee with the Principal
Please join the principal  for coffee on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 9:30 am in the Principal’s conference room.  September is an exception to the schedule as we will meet the 3rd Wednesday, September 15th.  This is an opportunity to visit and get information on WHS.
 
2.  Campus Leadership Team (CLT)
This advisory group will begin regular monthly meetings on Thursday, September 23rd at 7:40 am in the Principal’s conference room.  These meetings are open to all and we welcome your input.  Meeting days are the 4th Thursday (except November  – 18th, December  – 16th, and May – 19th on the 3rd Thursday)

Student On-line Registration due TODAY!
Student On-Line registration through Family Access is set to be turned off after Friday, September 3rd.  Any families that have not completed registration today will need to be given access to on-line registration on an individual basis.  Call 732-9280 ext 33040, or email Sandy Brown at sbrown@eanesisd.net for password.  You will be emailed the information as it cannot be given over the phone.
Senior Parent College Nights
Due to a conflict in scheduling there will be two Senior Parent College Nights.  We apologize for the conflict and hope each senior parent can attend one of the scheduled meetings.  The power point from the meetings will be posted on the WHSCHAPS website under college and career.  Both meetings will cover the same material.
