Juniors only should register for the PSAT/NMSQT. Sophomores will test on the same day and their registration will be made by the school.
Sophomores, Juniors and Parents of Sophomores and Juniors,
We will be administering the PSAT on October 19th, during the school day, to all sophomores and for juniors who have registered to take the PSAT.
The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test, or the PSAT serves a dual-purpose. First, it is a preparation and predictor for the SAT; the PSAT results can help students to focus their preparation for the SAT later in the junior or early senior year. Second, for juniors, the PSAT is the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program. The October PSAT is formally called the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, or PSAT/NMSQT.
WHS will be covering the costs and registrations for all sophomores. Juniors wishing to take the PSAT will need to register, and pay, for the PSAT.
