Solar Eclipse Viewing from Chaparral Stadium

Aladdin Jr. Musical

Westlake's school year began with a Solar Eclipse on the first day of school. Our students went to Chaparral Stadium for a short presentation by former Westlake High School student turned meteorologist, David Yeomans, from KXAN which was shown on the Jumbotron. Our band, Hyline and cheer performed before the peak of the eclipse at 1:10 pm. The clouds cooperated, and we would like to thank the community and our students for embracing this real life learning experience.

Off and Running in the '17-'18 School Year...

We are off to a fabulous start at Westlake High School for the '17-'18 school year. While the first day of school can be a little challenging with over 2,600 students arriving, we feel we had a positive day on campus.

Students who have not picked up their Parking stickers and Smart Tags should do so at the AP Office. You will need the Smart Tags to charge food to your account and to ride the school bus to and from home.

Lyric Metal played by the Electric  String Quartet comprised of Lillian Sun (Violin), Abhinav Madduri (Violin), Jasper Lin (Viola) and William Wang (Cello) for the EISD faculty during Convocation. To enjoy, please click the button below.

New Club - MIT Launch!

This year, MIT Launch has invited Westlake High School to start the first Launch Club in the Central Texas area. Student leaders, Kyle Wang, Angela Zhang, Ankita Rao, Rosemarie Pousset, and Joseph Asfouri, will organize and teach members the ins and outs of creating, perfecting, and pitching a business idea, with the goal of inspiring students to explore and pursue entrepreneurship. Our first meeting is September 16th from 2:00-6:30 pm, in the Chap Room 247, and it will be an Invent-athon where kids will be able to create projects and submit them for prizes like 3-D printers and laptops.

WHS PTO is auctioning FOUR Parking Spots for the 2017-2018 school year! If your family needs a spot, be ready to jump into the auction starting Tuesday, August 29th.
