Girls' Golf and Swing 4 the Cure!

Congratulations to the girls golf team for taking 2nd place in the Swing for the Cure. The Chaps also contributed $500.00 to a fund that will go directly to a Churchill High counselor who is fighting breast cancer. iPad Insurance FAQs

Image

How does a student/parent know if they have insurance?: Insurance can be verified by checking payment on their family access account.
How does a student get insurance?: If a student does not have insurance, they can still purchase it. They will first have to go to the Help Desk during 4th and 5th period and have their iPad assessed. Once it is inspected and observed to have no damages by a campus technician, the desired insurance plan can be applied to the account.
What if they don't have insurance but opt to buy it?: If a student doesn't have insurance, they can opt to purchase it. However, the insurance will not have any effect on the current repair cost (as it happened prior to insurance) but it would protect it going forward.
What options for insurance do they have?: There are two different plans this year, a $65 and a $99 one. The $65 gives two claims at a $50 deductible and then $99 gives 2 claims at a $0 deductible.

WHS Tech Talk- Online Webinars for WHS Parents

Life is busy, but here at WHS we know there are unanswered questions and curiosities that get pushed aside for the hustle and bustle. In an effort to improve communication and provide some alternatives to face-to-face sessions the WHS EdTech team is hosting a series of webinars about student digital use and safety.

The series kicks off next Wednesday, October 25th at

1:30 pm. Lisa Johnson and Chris Hanson, WHS Instructional Technology Specialists, will be live discussing Digital Distractions and Social Media. We will have two other sessions that parents can access:
Wednesday November 2nd, 1:30pm- Note Taking on the iPad
Wednesday November 9th, 1:30pm- Common Sense and Digital Citizenship
Links to the webinar will be emailed out the morning of the webinar. If you do not receive the email, or if you have any questions or comments about instructional technology at Westlake High School, you can email Lisa and Chris at whsedtech@eanesisd.net. Seats will be limited, but sessions will be recorded and made available to parents and students.
